Carpet Seam Repair in Fort Lauderdale

An open seam starts as a thin line and ends up as a frayed gap. We repair split and separating carpet seams for Fort Lauderdale homeowners in Galt Ocean Mile, Harbor Beach and across the city, and restretch the carpet when that's what caused the seam to fail.

Signs your Fort Lauderdale carpet needs carpet seam repair

Wherever two pieces of carpet meet, there's a seam. In hallways, doorways and large rooms those seams carry a lot of foot traffic, and a seam that wasn't bonded well at install, or that has carpet pulling on it, will start to separate.

Seam repair usually takes one visit, which fits most Fort Lauderdale community contractor rules. In Fort Lauderdale condos, seams often run through bedroom doorways or down hallways, right where traffic is heaviest. Humidity near the water in Fort Lauderdale can make loose carpet shift, which puts stress on seams.

How we do it

Our re-seaming option is part of most restretch jobs, and it can also be done on its own. We open the failing seam, clean it up, rebond it and press it flat so the joint disappears into the carpet again.

Fort Lauderdale homes and carpet

Fort Lauderdale's housing changes block by block. There are 1940s and '50s cottages in Sailboat Bend and Victoria Park, canal-front homes in Rio Vista, Coral Ridge and Harbor Beach, and high-rise condos along Las Olas, in Flagler Village and up Galt Ocean Mile. We repair carpet in all of them, from a single bedroom in a waterfront house to the hallways of a condo unit.

Many Fort Lauderdale condos have carpet over concrete in bedrooms, with tile or marble in the living areas, so the carpet-to-stone transitions get heavy wear. Older single-family homes near downtown were often re-carpeted over the decades, and stretched carpet can loosen when tack strip in an old slab doesn't hold.

Local tip: Fort Lauderdale high-rises usually require contractors to reserve the service elevator and work set hours. Tell us your building's rules when you book and we'll schedule around them.
