Stair Carpet Repair in Fort Lauderdale

Loose or worn stair carpet is a safety problem, not just a looks problem. We repair stair carpet in Fort Lauderdale homes and townhomes, from Harbor Beach to Sailboat Bend, by re-securing treads, tightening noses and patching damaged steps.

Signs your Fort Lauderdale carpet needs stair carpet repair

Because stair carpet wraps around each step, any looseness shows up fast as a bulge on a tread or a gap under the nose. Catching it early keeps a small repair from turning into a full stair replacement.

In Fort Lauderdale townhomes and walk-up condos, interior stairs take a beating and the noses wear first. Sand tracked in from the beach acts like sandpaper on Fort Lauderdale stair treads. Stair carpet in older Fort Lauderdale homes may be on its second or third install, so we check the tack strip and fasteners before tightening it.

How we do it

Stair repair focuses on safety first. Anything loose gets tightened and re-fastened, then worn or damaged treads are patched when matching carpet is available.

Fort Lauderdale homes and carpet

Fort Lauderdale's housing changes block by block. There are 1940s and '50s cottages in Sailboat Bend and Victoria Park, canal-front homes in Rio Vista, Coral Ridge and Harbor Beach, and high-rise condos along Las Olas, in Flagler Village and up Galt Ocean Mile. We repair carpet in all of them, from a single bedroom in a waterfront house to the hallways of a condo unit.

Many Fort Lauderdale condos have carpet over concrete in bedrooms, with tile or marble in the living areas, so the carpet-to-stone transitions get heavy wear. Older single-family homes near downtown were often re-carpeted over the decades, and stretched carpet can loosen when tack strip in an old slab doesn't hold.

Local tip: Fort Lauderdale high-rises usually require contractors to reserve the service elevator and work set hours. Tell us your building's rules when you book and we'll schedule around them.
