Signs your Davie carpet needs carpet transition and doorway repair

Transitions also take abuse from vacuums, rolling chairs and doors that swing across the carpet. If the edge isn't secured and finished well, it starts to unravel.

Pets love to dig at doorway edges in Davie homes, and that frays transitions fast. Many older Davie homes have been updated with new tile or plank next to existing carpet, and those transitions need finishing. Back doors in Davie homes with outdoor living see mud and grit at the carpet edge.

How we do it

We trim back frayed carpet, restretch it if needed, and re-finish the edge so it meets the hard floor cleanly. If the damage is right at the doorway, we can patch the carpet right at the transition.

Davie homes and carpet

Davie is a town with two personalities: western-style ranch properties and horse country on one side, and busy suburban neighborhoods and student housing around Nova Southeastern University and the Broward College central campus on the other. Carpet repair here might mean a family room in Shenandoah, a bedroom in a rental near campus, or a ranch house in Long Lake Ranches.

Davie homes range from older ranch-style houses on large lots to gated communities like Long Lake Ranches and Forest Ridge. Rental homes and apartments near the universities turn over often, and move-outs are when we see torn carpet, burns and pet damage.

Local tip: Landlords near the Davie campuses can often save the carpet between tenants with patches and a restretch instead of a full replacement. Call before you book the flooring installer.
