Signs your Greenacres carpet needs carpet patching
A patch makes sense any time the damage is in one area and the rest of the carpet is still in good shape. It saves the room instead of tearing it all out over a single spot.
In Greenacres condos, the closet usually has carpet that matches the bedroom, which makes for a clean transplant patch. Pet-scratched spots are one of the most common patch jobs we see in Greenacres. In two-story Greenacres homes, the upstairs closets often hold the best matching carpet for a patch.
How we do it
We cut out the damaged area with precision tools and cut the replacement piece to the same size and shape, lining up the pile direction. The patch is seamed in so it blends with the surrounding carpet. If you don't have spare carpet, we can usually take a piece from a closet or from under a stationary piece of furniture. That's called a transplant patch.
Greenacres homes and carpet
Greenacres was incorporated in 1926 and has grown into one of the larger cities in central Palm Beach County. Older single-family streets on the east side give way to condo, townhome and apartment communities along Lake Worth Road, Jog Road and 10th Avenue North.
Greenacres has a big share of condos and rental apartments, along with mid-century homes and newer townhomes with carpeted stairs. Busy families and frequent move-outs mean we see a lot of worn doorways, pet damage and carpet that needs a restretch.
Local tip: If you manage a rental in Greenacres, book repairs for the few days between tenants. Restretching and patching an empty unit is faster, and it's ready to show sooner.
