Signs your Boynton Beach carpet needs carpet transition and doorway repair

A transition is where carpet meets another floor, like tile, wood, laminate or stone, usually at a doorway. It's a high-traffic edge, and when it isn't finished properly the carpet frays, curls up or pulls loose.

Many older Boynton Beach homes have been updated with new tile or plank next to existing carpet, and those transitions need finishing. If you're remodeling your Boynton Beach home over the off-season, schedule the carpet edges after the new floors go in. Remodels in Boynton Beach communities often follow HOA rules, so we schedule transition work around your contractor.

How we do it

For remodels, we come in after the new floor is down so the carpet can be finished to the final height. That gives you a clean, secure edge at every doorway.

Boynton Beach homes and carpet

Boynton Beach is Palm Beach County's third-largest city, named for Major Nathan Boynton, who developed the area in the 1890s. It runs from the Boynton Harbor Marina and a downtown along Ocean Avenue out to newer communities in the west, with established neighborhoods like Leisureville in between.

Boynton Beach has a lot of 55-plus communities, condos and villas, where carpet in bedrooms and dens has often been in place for years. Newer two-story homes and townhomes in the west of the city have carpeted stairs and upstairs bedrooms that see heavy family traffic.

Local tip: In a villa or condo with tile in the main rooms, the bedroom doorway is where carpet frays first. Fixing a worn transition early keeps it from unravelling into the room.
