Signs your Delray Beach carpet needs water damaged carpet repair
Carpet that dries in place after getting wet often doesn't go back to lying flat. The backing can relax, the pad can break down, and the tack strip that holds the edges can lose its grip.
In two-story Delray Beach homes, an upstairs bathroom or laundry leak can soak carpet below. For Delray Beach rentals, re-installing carpet after a leak is often faster than replacing it between tenants. Seasonal Delray Beach homes can have a slow AC leak go unnoticed for weeks, so carpet often needs new pad when it's found.
How we do it
Once the drying company is done, we replace the pad and tack strip that got wet and re-install the carpet. The final power stretch gets rid of the waves that wet carpet usually leaves behind.
Delray Beach homes and carpet
Delray Beach is known for Atlantic Avenue, a lively downtown that runs from the beach past Old School Square to the Pineapple Grove arts district. Around it are historic neighborhoods like Del Ida Park and the Marina Historic District, waterfront sections like Seagate and Tropic Isle, and Lake Ida to the west.
Delray Beach homes range from 1920s and '30s cottages near downtown to canal-front ranch houses and newer townhomes. Older homes often have wood or terrazzo under carpet that was added later, and townhomes have carpeted stairs and upstairs bedrooms.
Local tip: If you're renovating an older Delray Beach cottage and uncovering the original floor in one room, save the carpet you pull up. It can often be used to patch other rooms.
