Carpet Transition & Doorway Repair in Palm Beach

The spot where carpet meets tile, wood or stone is one of the hardest-working edges in a Palm Beach home. We repair frayed, lifted and unfinished carpet transitions and doorways in the blocks around Worth Avenue, the North End and throughout Palm Beach.

Signs your Palm Beach carpet needs carpet transition and doorway repair

Transitions also take abuse from vacuums, rolling chairs and doors that swing across the carpet. If the edge isn't secured and finished well, it starts to unravel.

Sand tracked through Palm Beach homes near the beach grinds at carpet edges in doorways. In Palm Beach condos, carpet usually meets tile or marble at the bedroom doorway, and that edge wears quickly. Many older Palm Beach homes have been updated with new tile or plank next to existing carpet, and those transitions need finishing.

How we do it

We trim back frayed carpet, restretch it if needed, and re-finish the edge so it meets the hard floor cleanly. If the damage is right at the doorway, we can patch the carpet right at the transition.

Palm Beach homes and carpet

The Town of Palm Beach, incorporated in 1911, is the barrier-island town that gave the county its name. It's home to Worth Avenue, The Breakers, Henry Flagler's Whitehall mansion, now the Flagler Museum, and residential areas from the Estate Section to the North End and the condominiums of the South End.

Palm Beach homes often have fine wool carpet, custom stair runners and wall-to-wall in bedrooms, and many are lived in only during the season. Homes and condos that sit closed for months can see carpet loosen and seams open.

Local tip: From November through April, the Town of Palm Beach limits contractor working hours, and there's no work on Sundays or town holidays. Tell us your building's or house manager's rules too, and we'll schedule inside the window.
