Signs your West Palm Beach carpet needs carpet transition and doorway repair

A transition is where carpet meets another floor, like tile, wood, laminate or stone, usually at a doorway. It's a high-traffic edge, and when it isn't finished properly the carpet frays, curls up or pulls loose.

Many older West Palm Beach homes have been updated with new tile or plank next to existing carpet, and those transitions need finishing. West Palm Beach rental turnovers often uncover frayed doorway edges that we can re-finish. Sand tracked through West Palm Beach homes near the beach grinds at carpet edges in doorways.

How we do it

For remodels, we come in after the new floor is down so the carpet can be finished to the final height. That gives you a clean, secure edge at every doorway.

West Palm Beach homes and carpet

West Palm Beach is the county seat and largest city in Palm Beach County, and its oldest, incorporated in 1894. Downtown along Clematis Street and Rosemary Square has a growing skyline of condo towers, while historic neighborhoods like El Cid, Flamingo Park, Grandview Heights and Northwood have homes from the 1920s on.

In the downtown towers, carpet is usually in bedrooms over concrete next to tile or wood-look floors. In the historic neighborhoods, carpet often covers original Dade County pine or oak, and older tack strip may need replacing before a stretch will hold.

Local tip: Downtown West Palm Beach buildings almost always need a certificate of insurance and a reserved service elevator. Send us your building's requirements when you book.
