Signs your Tequesta carpet needs carpet burn repair
Burn marks are one of the most common reasons people think they need new carpet. In most cases, they don't. A burned area can be cut out and replaced with matching carpet for far less than replacing the room.
Holiday candles are a common cause of burns we repair in Tequesta homes after the season. In Tequesta condos, iron burns in the bedroom are the most common burn we repair. In older Tequesta homes, a space heater or dropped iron can leave a burn on carpet that's otherwise in good shape.
How we do it
We use precision tools to cut away the burned carpet and replace it with an equally sized section of spare carpet. If you don't have a remnant, we can usually take one from a closet. The new piece is set with the pile running the same way so it blends in.
Tequesta homes and carpet
Tequesta is the northernmost municipality in Palm Beach County, a village incorporated in 1957 along the forks of the Loxahatchee River. It's a quiet community of single-family homes and condos along the Loxahatchee River and the Intracoastal.
Many Tequesta homes are 1960s through 1980s houses on or near the water, with carpet in bedrooms and family rooms. Riverfront humidity and wet feet from boating take a toll on carpet near the back doors.
Local tip: In a riverfront home, run the AC or a dehumidifier steadily in carpeted rooms. Lower humidity helps a fresh restretch stay tight longer.

Common questions
Will I see where the patch is?
Patches are seamless, but a small color difference can show if the surrounding carpet has faded from wear or sunlight.
Can a burn be cleaned out?
No. Burned fibers are melted or charred, so they need to be removed and replaced with a patch.
