Signs your Tequesta carpet needs stair carpet repair
Stairs get more wear than any other carpeted area in a home. The front edge of each step, called the nose, takes the impact of every footstep, and carpet there frays, loosens and eventually pulls away. Loose stair carpet is a real fall risk.
Sand tracked in from the beach acts like sandpaper on Tequesta stair treads. Older relatives visiting Tequesta for the season make loose stair carpet a priority to fix. In Tequesta townhomes and walk-up condos, interior stairs take a beating and the noses wear first.
How we do it
Stair carpet repair is detail work. Our technicians tighten and re-fasten carpet step by step, fix loose landings, and patch damaged areas, focusing first on anything that could catch a foot.
Tequesta homes and carpet
Tequesta is the northernmost municipality in Palm Beach County, a village incorporated in 1957 along the forks of the Loxahatchee River. It's a quiet community of single-family homes and condos along the Loxahatchee River and the Intracoastal.
Many Tequesta homes are 1960s through 1980s houses on or near the water, with carpet in bedrooms and family rooms. Riverfront humidity and wet feet from boating take a toll on carpet near the back doors.
Local tip: In a riverfront home, run the AC or a dehumidifier steadily in carpeted rooms. Lower humidity helps a fresh restretch stay tight longer.
